Enrichment Days

Discovery STEM Education have experience in designing and delivering bespoke Enrichment Days for all age groups. They can be tailored according to specific requirements of the school. Examples of some of the popular themes are listed below.

Space Day

We want to go to another planet! But where should we go and how will we get there? The Space Day provides an opportunity for budding space scientists to take part in a variety of exciting science and engineering activities including:

Analysing liquids, identifying microbes and testing rocks from newly discovered planets to decide which one could support human life.
Exploring a model moon surface, making model moons and taking part in a physical demonstration of the motion of celestial bodies.
Designing and launching rockets!
The way in which the activities are structured and delivered can be tailored to meet the needs of individual schools. Activities can be differentiated for each key stage. The day can be used to focus on areas of the recent National Curriculum guidelines for 'working scientifically' or delivered simply to stimulate an interest in science.

Delivered by a science teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE) and PhD in Biochemistry.
